A lovely sunny spring day for a journey to the District Grand Council meeting in Peacehaven where our Deputy District Grand Prefect W.Bro Bob Tuthill accompanied by Bro. Terry Sadler the District Grand Secretary were warmly welcomed and entertained to a most enjoyable meeting presided over by RW.Bro Gene Earland who was in very good form.

The recently modernised centre at Peacehaven saw eighty five present including District Grand Prefects from ten other Districts and eight Deputy District Grand Prefects.

Also present was the Past Deputy Grand Master RW. Bro Clive Manuel, who was the personal guest of the District Grand Prefect. Sunny Sussex by the Sea
The District Grand Prefect of Sussex was well supported by the officers of the year and we were all treated to a wonderful festive board after the meeting of traditional Sussex fayre.

There was a most interesting and amusing address by W.Bro Ian Taylor, the DDGP of Sussex, to Gene. Not only were his attributes as the head of the AMD in Sussex mentioned but the little known fact he was a good ballet dancer in his youth… his Tendu was apparently a joy to behold, the core movement that served him well for the foundation of his leadership.

The DGP and the DDGP always welcome company from members of Surrey at their visits around the country, because as you can see there is always something to enjoy.
